Practical Guide to Ovulation Induction Edited by S.M Sathanandan and H.S Jacobs. Published by Imperial College Press in London in March 2002. ISBN: - 1-86094253-9   This is a multinational, multi-author book. I have contributed 3 chapters to this book. 

 

This book has recently been reviewed in the Obstetrician and Gynaecologist vol. 6, number 3, 2004 on page 188. It has been recommended as a handy book to have in a unit where ovulation induction is carried out, for quick reference, as well as a useful book for trainees interested in reproductive medicine.

RESEARCH THESIS 

A research thesis on "The acute in-vivo effects of insulin in human anterior pituitary and ovarian function and characterisation of insulin resistance in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome" was accepted by the University of London in fulfilment of an MPhil degree in medicine in Feb 1989.

The thesis is arbitrarily divided into 4 chapters. The first chapter titled as "Insulin resistance in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome" looks into the relative contribution of obesity and PCO to the insulin resistance. Throughout the study hyperinsulinaemic euglycemic clamp was used to study the effects of insulin at various doses. The second chapter looks into the effect of insulin on human pituitary gonadotropin secretion.

The third chapter evaluates the kinetics-kinetics and dynamics-dynamics of a new potent gonadotropin antagonist - Nal Glu. The fourth and the final chapter evaluate the effects of insulin in ovarian steroidogenesis.

Invited Guest lectureship in International Meetings and courses

I was the chairman and a guest lecturer for the Reproductive medicine section of the Asian congress in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Sri Lanka in October 1997.

I was a guest lecturer for Reproductive medicine symposium in Singapore in 1998

I have been invited to be a guest lecturer at the Singapore – Malaysian Academy of Medicine annual meeting in August 1999.Following this lecture I have been requested to undertake a visiting lectureship in various states in Malaysia for a week.

I have also been an invited speaker several times in the MS/MRCOG courses organised by the University of Malaysia.

I was an invited guest speaker for All Indian Congress in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Jan 2004

Recently  I was invited to lecture on Recent advances in Infertility at FIGO conference in Malaysia in 2006 and co-chair the session on Novel hormones in Reproductive endocrinology.
